Sprouting mix can be used to prepare highly nutritious sprouted seeds. This mix contains grey stripe sunflower, safflower, mung beans, wheat and sorghum. It is sold in two pack sizes of stand-up resealable pouches: 1kg and 1.75kg.
To make highly nutritious sprouted seed, here are the items you’ll need:
• Sprouting mix
• Aviclens
• Seed sprouter (optional)
• metal strainer
• bowl
• water bottle
• paper towel
Directions for preparing sprouts:
1) add Aviclens to a bottle of water (as directed)
2) place the required amount of sprouting mix into a bowl
3) cover with treated water and leave to soak for 8-12 hours
4) pour the sprouting mix into the metal strainer (over a sink)
5) rinse the sprouting mix with running water (over a sink)
6) pour Aviclens water (from step 1) over the sprouting mix (over a sink)
7) place the sprouting mix into the sprouter trays (or metal strainer resting over the bowl)
8) Drape a moist paper towel over the top to prevent drying out
9) repeat steps 5-9 every 12 hours (and prior to serving)
10) Once tails first appear (usually after 24 hours), serve or store in refrigerator for up to two days ^
^ The sprouts should have a faint sweet scent. Discard immediately if they ever have a sour scent, visible mould (that appears as light grey furry patches), or if tails reach 1.5 cm length
